Closing the Loop

THE PROBLEM

Shaving shouldn't be a landfill subscription.

Billions of plastic razors are thrown away each year. Most after just a few uses.

Plastic has its place, but it adds nothing to the quality of a shave. At Leaf, we set out to build a razor that performs better without disposable plastic.

By switching to steel blades and durable tools, you’ve already cut waste from your routine. Recycling your blades is the final step in closing the loop.

Shaving shouldn't be a landfill subscription.
GETTING READY

Store used blades in the recycling tin.

Place used blades and guards into your Recycling Tin (or a repurposed mints tin).

A sturdy metal tin keeps used blades safely contained and makes them easy to transport once it’s time to recycle. When the tin is full, both the blades and the container get recycled together as scrap metal.

Most people take years to fill a tin.

READY TO RECYCLE

Recycle locally, or send back to Leaf Shave.

Most curbside recycling programs aren’t equipped to handle razor blades. Before placing them in curbside recycling, check with your local program.

Many cities have public or private scrap metal facilities that will accept a small container of steel blades. This is usually the easiest local option.

If you can’t find a nearby scrap metal facility, you can send in your full Recycling Tin (or a Leaf Shave razor handle). Secure the lid, package it safely, and mail it to:
