A QUICK GUIDE TO DERMAPLANING
STEP 1—PREPARE YOUR SKIN
CLEAN SLATE
Before you start dermaplaning, wash your face thoroughly. Make sure there's no makeup, dirt, or oil left behind so your pores are clear and do not spread dirt and bacteria while dermaplaning. After cleansing, gently pat your skin dry with a towel.
PROTECT YOUR SKIN
Drop Shave Oil directly onto your face, dispersed evenly across the areas you'll be working. Using your fingertips, spread out the oil evenly and massage it into your face. You do not need to dermaplane with oil, you may prefer to do this on dry skin. If you are new, or prefer using oil, this will help the blade glide smoothly while protecting it.
Tip: It's important to avoid direct skin contact with the dropper. This helps prevent transferring bacteria from your skin onto the dropper where it may then transfer into the bottle.
STEP 2—DERMAPLANE
THE RIGHT ANGLE
Hold your skin tight with your free hand and gently place the blade of the Dermaplaner at a 45-degree angle against your skin. Keep the pressure light and use short, gentle strokes moving towards the center of your face.
Tip—Wondering if you're doing it right? Dermaplaning should feel painless though you my feel the exfoliation happening, some describe it as a scraping sensation.
As needed, wipe away dead skin and hair from your face and the blade with a clean cotton round.
USE ALL OVER
Work methodically around your face. Avoid your nose and eyes and other sensitive areas.
For those areas that are not flat—such as your jawline—it’s helpful to pull your skin up and tight in those areas to ease the glide of the tool along your skin.
If you choose to dermaplane areas close to your eyebrows to catch those stray hairs, add the Precision Clip to the head of the Dermaplaner. This will shorten the amount of exposed blade, making it easier for you to precisely tackle smaller areas.
STEP 3—SKIN CARE
RINSE AND REFRESH
Rinse and wash your face to get rid of any remaining dead skin cells and peach fuzz. Then, gently pat your face dry with a towel.
Your skin may feel sensitive afterward. Apply Calming Serum is packed with antioxidants and omegas 3 and 6, which help lock in moisture, soothe, and rebalance your skin's natural oils.
Apply SPF if you expect to spend time outside after dermaplaning.

Peach fuzz can be tricky to shave with a normal razor. When you use Dermaplaner, the blade is being drawn across your skin at a steeper angle (45° vs. 27°) which allows it to more effectively scrape the hair away.
🌱 “WILL MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER?”
No, shaving hair off doesn't change the physiology of your hair. It may look or feel thicker at first when it's regrowing because the end of the hair may be blunter. Once exposed to the "elements" the ends of our hair weather and will return to it's normal pre-removal state with time should you ever desire to stop.
